Navigation doesn't need to be complicated. It should be easy to recognize and easy to use. It is also important to keep the navigation menu to a minimum so that the viewer is not overwhelmed. With the help of Bootstrap I was able to make the navigation very simple.
It is especially important for a small business or personal website owner to tell the user who I am. The "About Us" page should tell users who I am and what I do. It can outline the my personal philosophy or goals. This type of page can also serve as a gateway to related pages or even social media profiles.
The color scheme is an important part of an individual's website and the site must be consistent throughout the design. A web design should not be made up of unrelated hues. I use mainly black, white and gray in the overall website design. This color choice was made for minimalist reasons. Paired with the high quality images I chose, the overall style of the site is unified.
The high quality images within the site helped me to highlight my features in a more effective way. For example, I used photos I took during my internship at the time in the experience section. This approach enhances the benefits of a feature by providing the opportunity to highlight the most valuable parts.
White space is a frequently used element in minimalist web design and is a key feature of an effective modern website framework. By balancing content such as links, text and videos with a similar amount of white space, users will naturally be drawn to key locations on my site. While there is no standard amount for white space but a good rule of thumb is to create at least some white space between each content element.
I think individual websites all need to have specific fonts or typography created to help the viewer immediately recognize the focus that the site is trying to highlight. In terms of fonts, website builders have access to more font choices such as Google fonts, font awesome. These free website making it easier for me to accurately express my personality through fonts.
